About Dr. Roberts
Dr. Mark Roberts is the Triad area's only professionally-trained Behavioral Optometrist. He received his doctorate from the Southern College of Optometry and his fellowship certification from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. He is a frequent speaker and writer on the subject. His knowledge and passion have developed in part because of his own personal struggles as a child with vision-related learning disorders. This is the context from which he has become a champion for others (especially kids) who experience and endure the same hardships without hope for a solution . . . rather than being helped.
Dr. Roberts has maintained a private practice with increasing specialization in vision development and therapy in Asheboro, North Carolina, since 1986. He opened a consulting-based practice devoted exclusively to vision development and therapy in Greensboro in the latter part of 2005.
Dr. Roberts is married to Marla, his wife of 25 years. They have four children: Zachary, Briana, Ciera and Jamison. In addition to his passion for helping people to see their world more clearly, Dr. Roberts maintains certifications in CPR, AED, Standard First Aid, and Community Safety. Among other avocational pursuits, he serves in various capacities for the Boy Scouts (he is himself an Eagle Scout) and is a fly fishing enthusiast.
