For Doctors

As the Triad's only professionally-trained behavioral optometrist, I recognize that I represent an emerging medical discipline that may not be familiar to many doctors. I welcome the opportunity to explain our approach to vision development therapy and behavioral optometry. I look forward to presenting and exchanging patient case information that can be of benefit to you, to us, and to the patients we serve - particularly as relating to oculomotor dysfunctions and accommodative and vergence disorders.

I want to emphasize that Specialized Visual Solutions will be limited to vision development therapy and behavioral optometry patients only. SVS will not be a traditional eye care facility! The specific purpose of SVS will be to help as many people (especially children) as possible to escape from the unnecessary visual barriers and labeling that can negatively affect their entire lives. I experienced this first-hand, which is why I've committed my life to this specialty.

Human behavior is a uniquely individualized end product that is shaped by the synergistic interaction of multiple stimuli and complex human response systems. Dysfunction(s) in any visual process is sometimes the most dominant variable because of its dynamic and pervasive cause and effect relationship with the other response systems.

Along with my experienced staff, I have had the privilege of serving hundreds of patients with remarkable, well-documented results. You can see a sampling of our recorded case studies and patient endorsements on this web site.

In addition, the SVS staff keeps an online archive of articles that we think might be of interest to our peers in the medical community. To visit the SVS Online Archive, click here.
